Where Are They Now? Road Rules South Pacific's Dave

Every so often there's news about previous castmembers who have had some success with the entertainment industry, either as an actor or entertainer.

Road Rules' South Pacific Dave

Dave (South Pacific) hasn't been seen on an MTV show since he and Cara (South Pacific) were both o on the Gauntlet. The two were dating on that show, and went on to win the final Challenge. Since the show, the two went their separate ways, with Cara eventually posing for Playboy and having a child. Dave has been making a name for himself as an actor. He has steadily found work since his appearance on Road Rules in 2003.

He has had roles in Nip/Tuck, Veronica Mars, Grey's Anatomy, and The Ghost Whisperer. This Fall, Dave actually starred in his own NBC show called Grimm. The show follows his character, Nick Burkhardt, and his battles against the mythological characters of fairytales. The catch is that Nick is actually a police officer in Portland. Grimm airs on Fridays on NBC and has been renewed into its second season.

Mary Beth is both expecting and engaged to be married

Mary Beth (South Pacific) announced on her MySpace page that she is both pregnant and engaged.

Although you can't have access to her page unless she lists you as a friend, you can clearly see a picture of Mary Beth's fiancee proposing to her on the beach as her default picture.

She also announced via her MySpace that she is expecting a child as well.

Congratulations to Mary Beth! We wish her and her family the best!

Six Days of Road Rulers: Abram is back after a short absence from the Challenges

Having nine brothers and sisters may have not helped Abram stand out as a child, but he quickly grew into a loud, rambunctious personality that caught the eye of many. Having grown up in Montana, Abram admitted to having lived somewhat of a sheltered life that was soon challenged by the likes of his castmates like Cara (South Pacific). While he had a rough time adjusting to his fellow travel companions, things eventually came to a boil when he hit Donell (South Pacific) mid-trip and was sent home.

In the Gauntlet, the Miz (Back to New York) sent him home after a friendly rivalry in the "Knock Your Block Off" competition. He was a little more successful in the Inferno where his team dominated and he made it to the end and won. He was sent home at the Battle of the Sexes II, but came back for the Inferno II to beat Brad (San Diego) in an Inferno and make it to the finale, but only to be beaten by the Good Guys.

Tina is engaged to be married, Susie hinted to her appearance on the reunion

Last week, the reunion aired on MTV.com, and host Susie Castillo mentioned that Tina (South Pacific) would be making a return appearance on the Duel reunion show to be aired this Tuesday. Tina was actually scheduled to be there last Thursday, but canceled her appearance last minute. She was invited, as Svetlana (Key West) pointed out, for punching Beth (Los Angeles) in the face.

MM-Agency is reporting that Tina has just recently been engaged to her boyfriend, Bruno. If you remember, they mentioned that she was seeing someone on the Fresh Meat reunion.

Tina has been noticeably absent from the Real World/Road Rules drama the past couple months, but we wish her all the luck in the future. Congratulations!

A very short trailer for the new season of Road Rules has cropped up on MTV.com

Over at the Road Rules website, which currently has nothing on it and should be completely revamped in the next couple of days, a trailer for the new season of Road Rules has opened.

One of the most important things about this trailer, however, is what it reveals. There has been some question to if the pool of replacements would be newcomers or alumni. This trailer makes it seem as if they are newcomers. A casting call back in November also contributes to this notion.

Nevertheless, the trailers shows clips from past seasons and it's a great feeling for old fans who have missed the show since it went off the air in 2004. Here's some highlights:

Duel Episode #2: Tina is kicked off, Evan wins, Tyler goes to the Duel and is sent home by Derrick

Last night's episode of the Duel was exciting once again. As we told you, Tyler was targeted and the systematic elimination of the Key West cast continued.

Tina (South Pacific) was quickly sent home by TJ Lavin, who quickly told her that she would go home for what she did. Tina knew she'd go home, so she left without much of a fight.

The mission was a pairs mission with guys choosing girls. Evan (Fresh Meat) and Jodi (Extreme) pull out the win and then starts the chain. Eventually, Casey (Fresh Meat) is pressured to choose between Kenny (Fresh Meat) and Tyler (Key West), so she picks Kenny.

Tyler, in a surprise move, chooses Derrick, who sends him home. Next week: Aneesa (Chicago) is the center of controversy and the rollerderby mission looks rough for the girls.

Duel Spoiler Alert #2: Will Tina go home for hitting Beth? What's up next for the Duelists?

The question here for tonight's episode, by the way which airs at 10PM EST/9PM CT tonight, is whether or not Tina (South Pacific) will get sent home from the Duel. Now, stop reading any further if you do not want to know the details of the episode, because we're about to give them to you.

Last week, we see Diem (Fresh Meat) win the mission. The group was then supposed to gather so a girl could be picked to Duel. Well, there isn't a chance of this, as TJ Lavin will send Tina (South Pacific) home. Yes, Tina is sent home after this incident, but expect some great quotes in the aftermath.

So, most likely, we'll see at least the next mission unfold for the guys. I can't tell you who wins, but we can tell you that it still doesn't look friendly for (highlight to read) Tyler (Key West). He still has a target on his back.

Beth makes strong allegations that it was Tina who orchestrated the fight from the beginning

So, after last week's episode, after Tina's (South Pacific) Overdrive appearance, Beth (Los Angeles) finally makes a comment on her MySpace about what went down in Brazil.

Although it seems on TV that Beth went after Tina, Beth offers up a different story of events, saying it was Tina who had first approached her (which she admits to on the Aftershow) and even conspired to do something to Beth beforehand. She also mentions the tie-in to Diem's (Fresh Meat) situation and how they didn't really mean to encroach on her camera time, but she also mentions how producers knew what was going down.

This corrobrates a story by other castmembers who were saying they didn't know exactly why Tina hit Beth. Many have felt that it was an easy way out for Tina, who had no significant alliances in the Duel.

Casey responds to Tina's latest Overdrive episode with sarcasm and barbs of her own

Casey (Fresh Meat) has a bone to pick with Tina (South Pacific). For some reason, the Aftershow has been a public source of contention between castmembers in the way that castmembers talk all sorts of crap about other castmembers on the Aftershow.

This is a sort of staggering of insults back and forth. Casey went on the Aftershow last season and talked crap about Tina. So Tina responded in kind last week. So, now that the Aftershow is out, Casey repsonds to it on her MySpace:

I would like to make known to the public the fact that YES, I indeed blew every person I could on the duel. However, Tina's statement wasn't completely true, I also let a few of the lady's enjoy my company as well. What can I say, I was a popular girl. And hey, honestly! I need the face time, right? I'm such a media whore and all.... in fact, if I had to, I'd punch a bitch just to get more airtime if I could! But, someone already did that. I had to be oringinal, ya know?

Ouch.

Tina visits Blair in the premiere episode of the Duel's Overdrive Aftershow

"Straight after beating the sh*% out of Beth (Los Angeles)", Tina (South Pacific) was invited to sit in with Blair (the Quest), who was celebrating his 50th episode of the Aftershow.

She was actually wearing a College Dropout shirt on the show. They started with talk about the alliance she shared with Kenny (Fresh Meat) and how Tina didn't vote for him. Although she acknowledges it as a stupid decision, the two don't talk as much as they used to.

She also hinted at a hook-up between John (Key West) and Casey (Fresh Meat). But then she went into the Beth explanation and how she "body checked" her after the mission when no cameras were around ("Just to get it out of her system") which began the fight.

Tina loves Svetlana (Key West). She mentions that Beth's mole is missing. She calls Evan (Fresh Meat) the biggest scumbag. She gets Casey back from her Aftershow appearance by calling her out on who she slept with. She gives props to Diem. She calls Johnny "not the brightest bulb in the bunch". She loves Kenny (Fresh Meat). She says Jodi (Extreme) is a lot of brawn, no brains. She says Tyler (Key West) doesn't care about what he says about people.

And finally, "The Sh*& You Didn't See": John and Evan playing a "Jackass-like" game. Johnny Bananas throwing bananas at other castmembers. And Tina running into the sand circle even after TJ Lavin gives the group repeated directions NOT to.

Duel Spoiler Alert #1: The first-time Challenge blues - Key West in trouble

This is the portion of the site where we will tell you some spoilers on the upcoming episodes. We actually posted the first episode spoilers before, just a little rehashing for tonight. On a side note, these spoilers will be infrequent and most likely there will be a week or two where we don't post them. Thanks for you understanding.

So to find out what happens on the first episode, highlight the following block of text:

If you've seen the preview over on Overdrive, you know that Eric (Fresh Meat) and Robin (San Diego) win the first mission. Key West is actually directly targeted, as Svetlana (Key West) is forced to choose between John (Key West) and Tyler (Key West).

Svetlana chooses Tyler, who then chooses John. This is all a part of the animosity left over from their season, where the two of them had this love-hate relationship. I'd imagine there would be some explanation tonight behind Tyler's choice, as it'd make more sense if he picked one of the Veterans rather than someone from his own season. Tyler sends John home in the Duel.

Cara and Susie may be going to South Africa says Cameran's MySpace

Well, although I don't like reporting on stories of this nature because they are ambigious at best, a posting on Cameran's (San Diego) MySpace may reveal that both Cara (South Pacific) and Susie (Australia) may be headed to the next Challenge.

Here's the text of the comment:

Cammie, It's Monica Ericson. I just thought you should know that Cara and I are about to go start some trouble. Won't be the same without your skinny buns.

Now, maybe we're just reading into this waay too much... Maybe both Cameran and Susie have a mutual friend named Monica Ericson, who have a third friend named Cara, which coincidentally may or may not be South Pacific's Cara. Maybe Monica, Cameran and Cara take regular trips together. Or it really means what we think it means and we'll be seeing Susie and Cara in South Africa.

Update: The post was directed toward both Cara and Susie going to a party in South Carolina, which incidentally is Cameran's hometown.

Fresh Meat reunion is being filmed today, Tina is asking for support

According to Tina (South Pacific) and her MySpace, the Fresh Meat reunion show is being filmed today in Times Square in the MTV studios. She also mentions that certain castmembers may be "brutal" and she asks her fans to have her back in the audience. You should keep in mind that (spoiler, highlight to read)Tina is sent home from the next Challenge that hasn't aired yet for hitting Beth (Los Angeles). The Fresh Meat Challenge is now in its final episodes and in a few weeks, MTV will be void of any new episodes of The Real World or the Challenges until Denver premieres in the Fall.

Tina fights with Beth early on in the new Challenge; Theo makes it to the last round of Last Comic Standing

I'm told that Tina (South Pacific) has posted some pictures of the new Challenge up on her MySpace. Word is that she was sent home rather early because she gets into a fight with Beth (Los Angeles). She has made her MySpace profile private, so you can't really see it unless you're listed as her friend.

The final episode of Last Comic Standing airs tonight. We'll learn if Theo (Maximum Velocity Tour) got a chance to appear on the final show through the online voting contest.

The Reality TV Convention, billed as the first ever, is heading to Nashville this June. If you have a few extra bucks and are around Nashville, you can catch MJ (Philadelphia), Danny (Austin), Melinda (Austin), Katie (The Quest) and Tina (South Pacific) at RealityCon.

And today marks the day when we're only less than a week away from the official premiere of The Real World: Key West. Get ready to see Janelle, John, Jose, Paula, Svetlana, Tyler and Zach party it up in Key West.

Jeremy and Alton expected to face off in tonight's male Gauntlet

Monday marks yet another new episode of the Gauntlet II. Again, the following are spoilers for the episode. If you want to figure out what happens in this and future episodes, highlight the following text:

In the episode preview, it shows us that both Beth (Los Angeles) and incredibly Alton (Las Vegas) have trouble completing the tire swinging challenge. While this is a male Gauntlet day, Beth frustrates her team simply because they believe that she's not at the same level of performance as the rest of the team. While Beth is dragging the team down, the Veterans still manage to pull through a win, sending the male Rookies into the Gauntlet. Alton selects Jeremy (South Pacific) to go into the Gauntlet. While Jeremy does put up a fight, Alton sends him packing.

With only four Gauntlets to go, time is winding down for this Challenge... Will Alton and Kina (Extreme) prevail through the entire challenge to make it to the final mission? Will the team get rid of Beth? Who will win the final Challenge? With only four Gauntlets to go, we'll tell you that both the Veterans and Rookies will both see two Gauntlets each in the coming days, bringing their numbers to an equal standpoint. Cara continues to deny the alliance. She says Brad (San Diego) had the initial idea and right after that conversation went down, she was talking to Jillian (Extreme) and Susie (Australia) about it. And that's when it all started. She also cleared up the rumor about her hooking up with Jamie (New Orleans). It was nothing more than flirting. She counts posing for Playboy as the most liberating time of her life.

The Drama Wheel... Ahh, the juicy details come out. First, it lands on Susie. She admitted that the two of them spit on Ibis' (Extreme) pillow and Susie may have spit on Jillian's (Extreme) pillow as well. Next is Danny (Extreme). He apparently was "loony" and did pull-ups everywhere that he went. He also hated Jodi (Extreme) so much that he claimed he would hit her with a car. Kina (Extreme) was next on the drama wheel. "Crazy Bitch" were the first words out of her mouth. She claimed that Brad (San Diego) told her that Randy (San Diego) cheats on Kina.

When she was a child, she was playing with kittens. She put them in a box and to keep them from getting out, she stacked books on top and accidentally killed one of them. To be fair, she was really sad about it and it was a total accident. She loves kittens. She would take it back in a heartbeat.

Cara and Susie are targeted in their alliance in the next few episodes of the Gauntlet

Monday marks yet another new episode of the Gauntlet II. Again,
the following are spoilers for the episode. If you want to figure out what happens in this and future episodes, highlight the following text:

Like we mentioned last week, the Veterans will finally break their four game losing streak with a win on a female Gauntlet day. After the horrendous debacle that was the "alliance", Cara (South Pacific) and Susie (Australia) feel as if they are being ganged up on. Not only were they accused of an alliance, but they are the only non-Extreme females (Kina, Jodi, Ibis and Jillian) on the Rookie team. As a result, the two have become best friends on the Challenge, but feel alienated from the rest of their team. When the Rookies lose this mission, Kina keeps the promise she made in a previous episode and makes the decision to send Cara into the Gauntlet. Don't expect Cara to bow out of the Gauntlet so easily. She fights every inch of the way, but eventually is sent packing by Kina.

With only two female Gauntlets left, we can guarantee that the female Rookies will see the Gauntlet again. The question is: Will Kina option to completely destroy the Cara/Susie alliance?

Cara seen a a Super Bowl Party by Pink is the New Blog

Cara (South Pacific) was at the Playboy Super Bowl party yesterday. Check out Pink is the New Blog and scroll down to see a picture of her.

Lori is singing in the Los Angeles area; Article says Challenges suck; Cara opens her website

Those of you who were fans of Lori (Back to New York) and her singing career will be pleased to learn that Lori is getting back into singing. Her participation with her college acapella group, the Boston College Bostonians, was a storyline for one or two episodes during her season. Lori is beginning to sing with Jared Zeus and they have set up a MySpace page for all of you guys to join. You can check it out here. And those of you in the Los Angeles area are in for a special treat as Lori will be singing live in Hollywood next month. Her performance is scheduled for Saturday, March 4th at the Highland Grounds (located on Highland Ave. just north of Melrose). Good luck to Lori!

The Village Voice has also recently published an article on the Challenges themselves. Prompted by this new season, columnist Joy Press delves into what seems to be the now-tired format of the Challenges. While many fans may disagree, Press exposes the attitude that many fans of the first few seasons of The Real World and Road Rules see as the deterioration of a once-great series.
